Bucks County, PA: Ready For 100 is a grass-roots initiative that works with individuals, community, and political leaders and has 2 specific goals: for towns to commit to 100% renewable electricity by 2035, and 100% renewable energy for all uses (including heating and transportation) by 2050. These goals are aligned with the most recent international recommendation to get to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Working with their EAC’s, in March 2020, Doylestown Township became the first town in Bucks County to make this commitment. Solebury Township approved a resolution in July and Buckingham Township followed in October. West Rockhill Township is already in the process of contracting for 100% solar electric for their municipality.
